The Details:

Our meeting was at Woodworkers Source in Tempe.

Our guest instructor was Rich Best who introduced us to alternatives for making an MFT (Multi-Function Table) at a fraction of the cost of a store bought table.

Rich started by showing us a temporary base that could be built for about $50 with parts from Home Depot.

Rich answered the biggest question of how to ensure that the holes in the table top are exactly square and perpendicular to each other. You missed a great demonstration.

Made set of drink coasters and a magnetic holder so they can easily be stored. He also showed us some miniature turnings.

Is officially a turner now, he completed his second bowl. Impressive work (for a rookie turner!). He catches on quickly.

Made a night stand with raised panel sides. He also showed off a bowl was likely made by his grandfather.

Demonstrated how to build a low cost alternative to the MFT table that is extremely accurate.
